The Best Doggie Treats EVAR!

A friend of ours, Paul Reynolds, opened up a new pet bakery called The Baker’s Dog in Myrtle Beach. For our friends and family that got pet goody bags over the holidays, this article will provide the links you need to feed the addiction we have created in your canines. Just call us the friendly neighborhood treat pushers.

Paul bakes up a variety of fresh all-natural treats several times a week, and dogs love them. One thing that we found helpful is that he labels them by texture as well as taste. We were able to select soft bacon and cheese treats for our notoriously picky dog Chance. He snarfed a half pound bag in a week!

Paul has a deli case full of artisan treats that look good enough for humans to eat. They make awesome gifts and would also look great in a glass cookie jar in your kitchen. The dogs love them and look so cute eating them!

The Baker’s Dog also carries more conventional looking treats in a large range of tastes and textures. You can buy these treats by weight, in half pound increments. They also offer a mixed selection. This Christmas they had beautifully wrapped packets of mixed treats, which is what we gave out to the dogs in our extended family.

The treats come in a neat brown paper bag with a label that sports one of an assortment of great dog pictures. You can submit a picture of your dog and have his photo printed on the label. Even better, you can submit pictures of your friend’s dogs and have their pictures printed on the label of a bag of treats you intend to give as a gift. Its pretty cool!

The Baker’s Dog also sells pet toys, and they have a pretty good assortment that changes frequently. Well-behaved leashed pets are welcome to come in and pick their own treats and toys. The store is neat and clean with large areas of open space to accommodate large dogs or multiple dogs engaged in “shopping”.

Paul is also pretty technologically forward thinking. The bakery has a great blog and online store, a Facebook page, and a Twitter presence. Keeping up with them online is a great way to inject a little bit of doggy fun into your life.

If you’re local, stop by the Baker’s Dog at 6703 N Kings Hwy. If you live a bit further away, order some of their treats from bakersdog.com.
